Candy Corn Hat

My daughter loves for me to make her hats. She has several. Well for Halloween, she wanted a candy corn hat, so I made her one. I used the red round Knifty Knitter loom. Yarn colors are yellow, pumpkin orange, white. I also used a pom pom maker to make the the white pom pom for the top. And if I do say so myself, she looks sweet enough to eat :)

Corpse Bride and Groom

I wanted to make a corpse bride and groom. My first try did not come out the way I wanted. The bottom was round and it would not stand up on its own. So I took a four peg spool knitter and made a three foot cord and wound it around the bottom.

I made this couple for a couple who are really into The Nightmare Before Christmas and Corpse Bride. I did not have the patterns for any of those characters, but I did find this website http://juliastitches.blogspot.com/2008/02/amigurumi-corpse-bride-pattern.html that had a simple corpse bride and groom on it. Mine are a bit different because when I started the first round I left a long tail (about six inches) so when I got to the top of the body I was able to pull the string through. This caused the bottom to invert some so the bride and groom are able to stand up. Sorry I am unable to show you what that looks like, but I already gave them to the real bride and groom.

Happy Jack

Knowing that I will have to provide surprises for my secret “Boo Pal” at work I am starting now so I can give cute items that I have made instead of crap from the 99 cent store. I made Happy Jack on my blue knifty knitter and the pink spool loom. I used the pattern from this link.

Silly Wiggy Wiggy Bird

Silly Wiggy Wiggy Bird
My daughter wanted a silly bird, so I found a pattern for a basic bird. I used Red Heart #784 Bonbon print for the body. Since I am still trying out my crocheting wings I just used what I had around my house, so for the eyes pink paper and squiggly eyes glued on with Elmer's and yellow paper for the beak. By daughter was happy and again I think it looks pretty good. Now this was a very easy pattern to follow and I think it is perfect for someone beginning to crochet or beginning Amigurumi.

Snowy Owl

Hedwig?

I am a HUGE Harry Potter fan so I thought I would try and make Hedwig. I got this pattern out of Easy Crochet Critters. It is a Vanna's Choice book of Amigurumi. For my second project ever again I think it is pretty good :)

The Happy Bee

My first Amigurumi project was this happy bee.
For my first real crochet project ever I think it came out pretty good.

The Begining

I am starting this blog because maybe there are others who are actually interested in crafts and what a normal person makes. Maybe you would just like someone to bounce ideas off of? I don't know if anyone will be interested in this blog besides my sister, but here's to going where I have never gone before.
